Why “9 bodies?”
9 is a homonym in Chinese for “longevity.”
In addition, as a dancer and dreamer, the nine bodies represent celestial motion, with each body imparting personality and grace.
MLK also inspired the name, for his famous quote which necessitates crawling or flying as progress, however small.
These themes of movement, synchronicity, and divine inspiration compel me.
What is the purpose behind these writings?
My belief system that genuine relationships far exceed the healing offered by conventional healthcare is backed by years of experience. I love and receive love daily, despite my diagnosis of schizoaffective disorder. Having brought friends out of depression and years of living in their heads, I find starting this blog not only fun to express myself but also urgent, as words can save lives.
Lately, I often find myself laughing and crying at the same time in the presence of loved ones. This is a rare expression of emotion while under medication that stabilizes my mood. The undercurrent of emotion I now feel urges me to leave behind a record of my thought and action, for posterity and guidance. For years, I did not find my voice unique or important. Recent experiences have suggested otherwise.
What is the newsletter about?
As long as the operation is on a small scale, I will send monthly letters unique to each recipient who signs up with email. Given my desire to lift others towards emotional satisfaction and healthy personal challenge, taking the time to check up on each person who reads my blog would bring me much joy.
Who is this blog for?
The ideal audience for my writings would be for those who struggle with mental juggling; for those who drown amidst their thoughts; for those who lack community and structure; for those who need a little push to achieve success on their own terms; and perhaps most importantly, those who suffer from chronic depression or schizophrenia.
I see the progress I’ve made in self-esteem over the past five or so years as exponential.* As such, I feel predisposed to share my “circle of competence” in this area.
*Please note that while I could list “productivity” here, I am excluding this term. My friends often remind me that work output has nothing to do with one’s self-worth, somewhat controversially.
What is ‘SPOTLIGHT SERIES?’
I want to use my time and effort towards highlighting the individuals in my life who keep me afloat on a daily basis. It’s a small task, beneficial to them, in exchange for the amount of help which these people provide me.
